VINSKA ŠETNJA / WINE WALK

U subotu 1. listopada Turistička zajednica Općine Sveta Nedelja organizira prvu Vinsku šetnju po konceptu „wine and walk“ i to novom pješačkom stazom Kalića i bukalete.

Šetaći će se moći opustiti u ugodnom istarskom ambijentu uz toplo gostoprimstvo domaćina i nagraditi svoja nepca tradicijskim istarskim jelima i vinima Prskalo.

On Saturday, October 1st, join us for the first Wine Walk in Sveta Nedelja

On Saturday, October 1, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Sveta Nedelja invites you to the first Wine Walk based on the “wine and walk” concept, along the new hiking trail of Kalići and bukaleta (ponds and jugs).

The 10 km long hiking trail connects the rich Istrian wine scene and picturesque vineyards, several ponds important for the preservation of freshwater habitats and its flora and fauna, and traditional Istrian cuisine.

At the very start, at the entrance to Nedešćina near the football stadium, participants will be welcomed by the hosts of the event with wines of San Martino.

Furthermore, it moves in the direction of the Romeo winery. Near the winary you will be able to taste the gastronomic specialties of agroturizam Kaštel Pineta. The path follows towards the old town center, which is adorned by the tower of the Church of the Holy Trinity. The walk continues through picturesque landscapes of red Istria with fertile vineyards. The result of the long tradition of winemaking in this region are numerous medals for top quality wines such as Malvasia, Muscat and Teran, awarded at well-known wine shows.

The next stop is Agrotourism ‘Giovanna Allegra’, where participant will taste homamade food and wine from local winery Kos.

The trail then goes around rare water springs that remained an important part of the Istrian cultural heritage. The importance of preserving puddles and their rich flora and fauna is part of the local culture of the Istrian region. Kalić Dužica, Kalić Čiper, Marguda puddle and Rupica spring are just some of the rare preserved examples of freshwater habitats.

Before returning to Nedešćina, there will be a visit to another estate, whose owners have been engaged in cattle breeding for years. A walk through the ‘Cerovac’ estate will especially delight children, who will experience playing with domestic animals as a unique ‘school in nature’. Hikers will be able to relax in a pleasant Istrian ambience with the warm hospitality of the host and reward their senses with traditional Istrian dishes and Prskalo wines.

On the way back, the path passes along old roads along the hills and fertile fields and leads to another winery that preserves the centuries-old tradition of winemaking, the ‘Matiška’ winery. In the end, it remains to taste a drop of top quality wine from the winery ‘Fuhtar’, whose tradition of wine production has been handed down to younger generations for a whole century.

The realisation of the hike trail was co-financed by the Administrative Department for Tourism of the Istrian County, and was realized in partnership with the Municipality of Sveta Nedelja.

The price of the registration fee for food and drinks is HRK 150,00 / EUR 19,91. To participate, you must register via the link https://forms.gle/Ff2vvQeuhYkQiSdK9 Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Additional information is available by calling 099/3534 223 or emailing info@tzosvetanedelja.com.
